Why does my account keep logging out unexpectedly?

Why does my account keep logging out unexpectedly?

Shopify keeps bringing me up with this, it doesn't accept my details and can't get rid of it, and then it just logs me out. I then log back in and can sometimes use it for an hour then the same happens, sometimes right away. It's making it impossible to even fulfill my orders, I have never had this in the 4+ years of using Shopify, and customer support cant seems to help.

I have done all the normal stuff, Cookies, etc......

Hm that doesn't look like a normal Shopify login prompt. I'd say try a different browser entirely for a while, one you've never used before, just to see if the behaviour continues.

Did anyone figure this out? This is really making getting work done very difficult. I click a function, am asked to verify I would like to perform the function (yes), then I’m logged out and have to log back in, and the function is not performed. I have tried clearing cache, cookies, I logged out, logged in, tried 3 different browsers, tried using my cellphone and still the same results. Was there a Shopify update that has an error? Please advise.

I'm having the same issue.  Any action I make, clicking a link, typing a customer name, it boots me out.  It has been doing this on an off for a couple of weeks, and I just log back in and it's fine the rest of the day. But today, I can't do anything without it logging me out.

I spent days trying to figure it out with the Shopify support and they did
not have any luck either. I tried clearing cache, cleared cookies, logging
put, logging in, I deleted the browsers and reinstalled. Tried Chrome,
Firefox, safari, brave and even tor browsers and nothing worked. I even
tried using my Samsung cellphone to work, and same thing. I just kept going
in circles unable to get anything done with a login loop.
Yesterday though!! My ipad decided to update itself to the new iPadOS
16.6.1, and I have not been looped since. WHY that helped, I don't know.
Especially since logging in on my phone didn't work either, so I don't
know. So if you're using an apple product, maybe try updating. Otherwise,
like you i kept re- logging in and for a short while was fine, then that
stopped working and I just kept going in circles and logging back in was no
help at all. Sad face.
Good luck to you. I hope you get your loop unlooped and can get back to
work soon!

Hi all,

I have had the same issue and hopefully fixed it. Every time I would click anywhere I'd get logged out immediately.

I found this thread: https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussions/customer-gets-logged-out-automatically/td-p/1274...

In short, apps seem to be the problem.

I have uninstalled the EMAIL app, which was the last app I've added and the moment I have uninstalled the app the problem disappeared.

Good luck 🙂

Hi KoleandSophie,

Right on for the suggestion. I did “unload” all non-essential apps from my iPad in an effort to help free space for the update to unpack itself. I think the email app was one of them, but it came with the iPad, so I’m not sure if that was the issue or that I needed to update. Super weird hiccup though. I hope it never happens again!
