Why does my checkout page redirect to an unsupported URL?

hi there.

 

When in the themes customize section after clicking on the search tab and scrolling down and then clicking on the checkout option to customize my checkout out page it gives an error saying the page is redirecting to unsopprted URL.

Welcome to the Shopify Community! I hope you're enjoying the platform so far.

 

Based on the error message shared, it appears this message presents itself within the theme editor when selecting checkout from the drop-down menu. This error message may indicate that there is an issue with the DNS settings of your domain.

 

To check this, could you please ensure there are no error messages within your Shopify admin > Settings > Domains section? If an error message is present, you'll need to adjust your DNS settings in your third-party domain provider account. I'll share the steps and resource below on what records will need to be changed.

 

Adjusting your DNS records in your third-party domain provider account:

 

  • Point the A record to the Shopify IP address: 23.227.65
  • Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
  • Point the CNAME record with the name www to: shops.myshopify.com

 

If you're not able to find any error messages within your domain section, I ask that you share your domain URL here so we can check the Whois information.
