Discuss and resolve questions on Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels, and site speed enhancements.
Hey,
So I am currently doing some work on a new theme. But anytime I work on the backend and save after a few minutes, I get hit with this message (See Below). Can someone please help?
If you're using a VPN, try turning it off when working on the site.
Try working via an incognito browser tab and see if that helps with the issue.
If you're working from a library, school campus, or any other space where many people are using the same internet connection, then try connecting to a different wifi, or else hotspotting from your phone.
Lastly, try taking a 1-hour break from working on the site, then come back and try again.
If none of the above helps, then you'd want to reach out to Shopify's support team directly for further troubleshooting.

Hey Stephen,
Thanks for the reply. Tried working and incognito and it still crashes the website. We are currently working out of an office that is hosted by a 1 TB modem. Not sure what the issue is?
You probably have too many people from the office working on Shopify stores at the same time, which is causing the issue.
Try hotspotting from your phone, or using a different wifi from somewhere else ... and see if the issue still occurs. If it doesn't, then you know it's an issue involving your office. If it's a public workspace, then you're probably out of luck. If it's a private workspace, then just have your coworkers all get off of Shopify for 30 minutes or so, then try again.

Hey Stephen,
Thanks for the reply. It's currently only myself that works on the Shopify store within the office. We work of a Telstra modem that connects us to the internet.
Shopify support stated 'after consulting our Technical Team, they have advised that Shopify has detected unusual activity coming from your IP address, possibly due to multiple devices on the same network visiting the storefront simultaneously or due to poor implementation of apps and event listeners'.
We have since tried using Norton's VPN, however once we turn it on and change the IP it doesn't connect to the internet (perhaps because it's a modem?) The other part of the statement is poor implementation of 'apps', we use a guy on Upwork that is coding our new Dawn theme and has been building it out for months. I am cautious that it may be something related to that as we have removed an old app and add ed a new app to our current theme on our live store last week? However, we have had no issues before this?
The only way to know for sure if it's your internet connection or not, is to try using a laptop somewhere that isn't your office, and see if you're still experiencing the same issues.
It sounds like it's your internet though at the office, given that even NordVPN doesn't work correctly (and that software is pretty much fool-proof).
If you can confirm that things work fine outside of your office, then you'd probably need to reach out to your ISP for help troubleshooting the issue.
