Why does my wholesale app disable discount codes?

I was using an app called wholesale simplified, the app itself worked great for what i needed it to do ( provide different pricing to professional customers) however it completely removed the option for customers to enter a discount code, it only allowed them to enter a "gift card". i un installed the app and tried several other apps which all had the same issue. Does anyone have a solution to this? Even customers not under a 'proffesional' account were barred from entering a discount code.

Whenever you use an wholesale/discount app to proivde discount to your specfic customer, it itself comes up as a Discount Coupon, so maxium of the apps does not show the option to enter the discount code at the checkout. 

You can check the Discount Depot App which offer you to show specifc discount to specfic customers and gives you the option to enter the Discount Code at the checkout but the professional customer will only be alowed to use a single discount whether he can use the prapplied disocunt or the discount code at the checkout.
