I exported the entire contents of my Shopify store as a .csv file - 1,310 items. I then cut and pasted UPC/barcodes into the relevant column in the Shopify spreadsheet applying an individual code to each item. That is the only change I made to the Shopify generated .csv file. I then tried to import the file back into the store. For some reason I can't. It's telling me that "Src cannot be blank". As it didn't export data in the "Src" - why does it now suddenly seem to need it. Yet again I've come to a grinding stop with nowhere to go!! Any ideas?
Hey, @RicoSee
That does sound strange. I'd be happy to help point you in the right direction:
The error message "Src cannot be blank" indicates that there is data in columns 'Image Position' or 'Image Alt Text' without data in the same row under 'Image Src.'
In a typical CSV, you will want to ensure that for each link in 'Image Src', there is an appropriate 'Image Position' entered (1 for 1st image, 2 for 2nd image, etc.). In your case, it sounds like you've determined that all of your rows under 'Image Src' are blank. I would recommend checking to ensure that the 'Image Position' and 'Image alt text' rows are also completely blank too.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Thank you
thanks a bunch! Solved my problem
For me the problem was that I had filled cells for the Image Alt Text column.
Then Shopify logically expects an Image Src as well.🤦♂️
Have the Same Problem
Hey, @Musti1

im having problems adding the file because i have data in the "image src" column and the "image position" column but none in the "image Alt" column what do i do so i can import the file to the store
When importing images via CSV, does each image link need its own separate line?
That is correct. Only one image link per row. We have a step-by-step guide on uploading multiple images via CSV here you can follow.
