We have a Shopify Store and use AccountEdge to process our orders. Yesterday the "Process Web Orders" was not connecting to our Shopify Orders and when I click the app on Shopify I get: HTTP Status 404 - The requested resource is not available. Any Ideas?
We're having the same issue with our store. I reached out to Accountedge last month because the Accountedge Connector app showed the HTTP 404 and AE support wasn't sure if it was an isolated issue or a Shopify wide problem. It would still allow us to process web orders but randomly some wouldn't come through. Now, none of our web orders are coming through to AE.
And Shopify support said it's a third-party app so they can't help.
This is the response I just got from AE:
Unfortunately earlier in 2022, Shopify decided that they did not want to integrate with any software that was not web-based. The decision was made suddenly, without notice. This effectively killed the sync script we initially created, while leaving us no time to develop a solution before the decision went into effect. As soon as we were aware of this, we started working on a web-based replacement version, but new scripts take time to develop.
We’ve had a difficult time getting Account Edge re-approved and determined that long-term we needed to make a change. We are actively working on another solution, moving the integration to a Shopify online connector later this year or early 2024. This will result in a cleaner integration, with data being synced down to Account Edge on the desktop.
Wow, that's unfortunate. Did they give you an alternative to getting orders processed for now? I don't know that we can manually input orders until (possibly 2024).
Yes its terrible. This is what they said when I asked for an alternative: "Unfortunately we do not have an alternative solution, you would have to process orders manually, our team is in the process of creating an alternative solution but I do not have any more information regarding a time line when this would be implemented"
So no they don't have a solution for now. Guess I will have to change platforms.
If you haven't seen it, there's another Shopify community discussion on the same topic (I'll link it below). Someone mentioned Mighty Merchant for importing orders into Accountedge. I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure if it works but forwarding along the info in case it helps!
Ya im also looking into Zapier for connecting Account Edge with the site https://zapier.com/apps/shopify/integrations/accountedge
Have you tried this?
Yeah, we're looking into Zapier as well. Hoping to find a solution.
Hi, I have contacted Zapier and they currently don't have any way to transfer orders from Shopify to Accountedge. I requested that they should have this function and have now brought it to the attention of the 'Accountedge team', see the reply from Zapier below. It looks like the more of us request it the better the chance of us getting a solution.
I went ahead and created a feature request for you for this - and that would do a few things:
I reached out to Zapier to express the need as you suggested. Hopefully, they have the structure in place to make this work quickly.
I spent a couple of hours trying to build a Zapier link. It doesn't work. It needs an API key from Accountedge, we only online versions would have.
Who are you asking us to contact and how?
See the email reply from Zapier for their email address

Bring this to the attention of the AccountEdge team.
Help track interest - other users asking for this would be added as a vote for this request - the more the users, the better the chances of this being implemented.
Remind us to notify you when there's any progress on this - if there's an update, you'll be the first to know.
While I don't have an ETA on when this feature might be implemented, we will definitely let you know once there's more info!
Please let me know if you have questions or need anything else.

I can't find any app called "Mighty Merchant" - anyone have a link?
Any update on the Shopify-Accountedge connector? This has been ridiculous.
Manually entering orders is not realistic. Maybe a temporary thing is mass importing in orders via a CSV file or txt file and sending inventory levels to Shopify to import in via csv or a txt file but I would think AccountEdge would create detailed instructions and a template and macro to run so this can be done.
I'm also exploring the use of the "EasyCSV" app. It is $10 a month but it seems that at its developer is pretty responsive. I will report back if we can get it up and working this week.
Hi @ErikaBarratt,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm happy to provide some guidance on this, to ensure it gets resolved. To confirm I'm fully understanding, is the app currently available within the Shopify App Store?
After taking a closer look, it seems that I was unable to locate the app AccountEdge within the Shopify App Store. Due to this, I'd encourage you to contact the app developer directly, as it would be considered to be a third-party app. This will allow the app developer to take a closer look into the issue and ensure it gets resolved as quickly as possible.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Blair, Can you please confirm that in 2022 Shopify decided that they did not want to integrate with any software that was not web-based? i.e. no desktop accounting software will be able to connect.
Blair,
As a relatively new Shopify client, we are stunned at how client support appears to be disconnected from Shopify's technical team. The AccountEdge Connector application was an approved and available 3rd party application. We have it installed on our Shopify admin site. It was one of the first 3rd party apps that we installed over a year ago. In May 2023, without warning, Shopify decided that it would not support non-web based connections, and the integration function would lock up when we would "Sync items". Our "Process Web Orders" continued to work for us. As of yesterday though, it appears that someone decided that the application should be removed as an approved or acceptable app entirely. With this move, we are now manually entering web sales into our accounting system; a process that we will not be able to continue with in the long term. Essentially, Shopify has crippled a number of their clients. This did not need to happen. Shopify has full visibility as to what 3rd party applications are utilized by which clients. Disabling (removing), this app without any notification demonstrates a complete disregard for client support.
You may want to bump this issue up to management. Or, maybe you would prefer to see this issue go viral within the Shopify community.
I COMPLETELY AGREE!
Is anyone at Shopify paying attention at all? Our entire business was instantly crippled when we couldn't sync anymore on August 14th. We now have two weeks of chaos, running out of products and double selling products and over ordering because we cannot keep track of 400 products with an inaccurate inventory count in our busiest season. We service school districts. We process more orders in August than any other month of the year. Why is a solution not forthcoming and why is the only Shopify response AT ALL one that obviously made zero effort to understand the problem. Does Shopify monitor this chat at all?
Was your reply helpful? No. I can click like to let you know? But there is no where to tell you it's not helpful? Was the question answered? No. It wasn't even, apparently, read or understood. This is the worst possible response to a question to not fully understand a catastrophic issue prior to answering.
I am very disappointed that Shopify has dropped AccountEdge Pro from approved Apps. The only reason I have been working on transferring my website from Squarespace to Shopify was the connection to AccountEdge Pro. I am guessing by the number of people responding to this thread, that there just were not a lot of customers of Shopify and AccountEdge using connection that has now been severed. I only count 10 respondents to this thread including myself. Just not many of us that have been screwed over. Interesting that AccountEdge still promoted it's webstore connectivity with Shopify.
We are in the same boat as you, Accountedge has said that their new web-based connector will be available later this year or early next year. Like you, I couldn't believe what I was reading especially with Q4 coming up. At the moment I am using a Shopify app called Exportible which is keeping me reasonably sane. It generates csv files for each order and sends them in an email which we import into Accountedge. I learned this morning that you can combine several orders into one file, saving a bit of time with the import.
Hi Blair, why don't you follow up on this issue? There are many AccountEdge users left in the dark.
This is standard operating procedure for AccountEdge. They do not care about any legacy products. They had at least a year to develop a solution, but actively chose not to. Users of the Mac desktop client have seen this song and dance before. In June 2017 Apple announced dropping support for 32-bit apps, AccountEdge promised for years that they were working on an update until dropping the bomb in Jan 2020 saying it was too difficult, they were not going to do it. I wouldn't believe a word they say. I strongly suggest anyone tired of the BS look into Odoo. Our company is nearly finished converting over and this just adds fuel to the fire.
We found a temporary solution until AccountEdge comes up with their new connector (they say it could be late this year or early in 2024). We are now using "EasyCSV" and I can't say enough good things about the developer, Max. He helped us and now should be able to help other AccountEdge sites using a similar configuration.
Can you walk through this process? We have an off-line, downloaded version of Accountedge. If we download a CSV from Shopify we then manually upload it to Accountedge? Or there is a way to import it into Accountedge?
EasyCVS exports the orders and formats them to match with AccountEdge's import format. We have it configured to drop them in a OneDrive folder - but EasyCVS can place them in many other places. Then we import them.
I'm working on getting the configuration correct when a discount is used. Plus we are working to bring in tips correctly. But these are minor for us and we are just happy to be able to get the orders in.
Thanks for sharing. Are you using "EasyCSV" to import the orders into AccountEdge from Shopify?
We now have the new version and they say it is the syncing feature is still in the works. Am I missing something?
