Why is my cart icon not updating on the Minimog theme?

Hi There!
I am having an issue where the mini cart icon with the number indicator is not updating when I click the add to cart button. In addition, once I am in the cart I am unable to remove an item from the cart.
Can someone please assist? I am using the Minimog theme.
