Why is my checkout button not responding on both mobile and desktop?

Hi All,

I'm running into an issue where when something is added to cart within my shop and then you try to check-out, nothing happens. If you click checkout, nothing happens on both mobile or desktop.

I've tried searching this online, but can't seem to find anyone having a similar issue. Usually they get an error, or the page refreshes.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, @ThreadsByCali.

To confirm, is this: threadsbycali.com the store that you're having issues with?

If so, I've just tested its checkout and was able to navigate to the checkout page successfully after clicking on the checkout button, as seen on the image below.

Because of this, I recommend that you troubleshoot using the following steps, so that we can rule out any potential browser or device caching issues on your end:

  • Test your checkout button via an incognito window
  • Or, you can use your usual browser but to clear the browser's cookies and cache before trying to test the checkout button again
  • You can also try another browser. For example, if you're using Safari, you can try using Chrome or Firefox

If the issue still persists after following the steps above, can you please reply to this thread with a video recording of the issue you're experiencing? Just to give us a better understanding of what you're seeing on your end.

If anyone sees this and is having the same issue, I was using a Upsell / Free Gift app that was preventing the checkout button to be clicked. I disabled it, and it solved the issue!

Thanks for the response Kimi, I should have came back here and updated once I found the solution!

Ah appreciate the update, @ThreadsByCali. Glad to hear you were able to resolve this!

Just a small note, I noticed that you haven't included a favicon yet on your store. If you're not familiar with favicons, this is the little logo or icon that appears next to your web address. While this may seem like a minuscule detail, adding a favicon can help with adding a more polished look to your website overall — so I recommend doing this when you have a spare minute on your end. We have instructions here that you can follow to add one to your store.

Don't forget to also remove the 'Powered by Shopify' text on your footer, to further keep things professional on your store!
