Why is my domain verification still pending after four days?

Can I please get help with my domain being verified. I’ve asked about this before. It’s been four days and it still says pending.

I understand that you are having some trouble with verifying a domain, and it still says pending after 4 days.

I would be happy to help you troubleshoot this and point you in the right direction to get this resolved, however here on the Shopify Community we do not have any access to your account information, so we can only go off what you provide here in your posts. If this is a time sensitive issue that is preventing you from making sales, then I would suggest contacting our support team directly using this link here.

With that said, would it be possible to provide some more context on what is happening currently? Is this regarding a Shopify bought domain, or a third party domain that you have connected to your store? Where are you seeing the pending status on the domain - is that in the Settings > Domains section of your admin, or somewhere else such as a sales channel or even on a website external to Shopify?

Feel free to share the domain here and I can take a look to make sure the DNS settings look good. Also, any screenshots you can provide of specific errors or warning messages would be handy to see.

My domain is through a third party website called namecheap. My website name is bedroomchills.com . It’s is through the setting > domains

 

section of admin. Appreciate the help

Thanks for getting back with more information, and for the helpful screenshot!

I can see that the domain is third party from Namecheap, and have you connected it to your Shopify store. However, the SSL says that it is still in a pending state.

When trying to access your domain URL I am seeing a 'Not Secure' icon in the browser bar. This makes sense, as the SSL is still pending on the domain, and without an SSL cert you store will not have a secure lock icon to indicate it is a secure website. Not to worry, we can troubleshoot this here!

I took a look at the DNS settings for this bedroomchills.com domain, and I believe I may have found some issues, and potentially the cause of the SSL cert pending issue. As you can see using this link here, this domain currently has two A Records; one pointing to 23.227.38.65 and the other pointing to 192.64.119.228. If a browser/system sees multiple A records for a root domain like this, it randomly tries to use one of them. That means that even if one of the A records is correct (which it is in this case), some visitors or systems may have trouble connecting to the website successfully. This could potentially also cause an issue with your SSL cert being issued.

You will need to remove the 192.64.119.228 A Record, and leave only a single A Record as per our instructions on connecting a third party domain to Shopify. You should have a single A Record that points to the Shopify IP address of 23.227.38.65. As you already have this added, you will just need to remove the second A Record, leaving only the Shopify one. This will be done on the Namecheap website itself, where you can edit your DNS settings for the domain.

Let me know how that goes! I'd be happy to continue troubleshooting with you if that doesn't work. Also, be advised that DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to take full effect, so bear that in mind if the DNS edit doesn't make any difference straight away.
