Why is my Motion Theme site speed decreasing?

Hello,

We are facing speed issues with our shop: https://sahkoperamoottori.fi

Theme is Motion and we are using Page Speed Optimizer and app did help, for moment we did see report page showing total "40" speed score. Now its gone downhill without us adding anything to site.

I have gone through your store. Your store looks good.

I have checked your site in the page speed tool. your website score is very low.

• Apps can have a significant performance impact on the stores they are installed on.
• First of all,  I am not trying to say that you shouldn’t install apps on your store.
• use less applications on your shopify store. Use such APIs for the Apps.

3rd party apps & codes which take time to load and their size . They decrease the speed.

Need to work on following points 

• Theme Upgrade if there is a scope and upgraded theme available
• Reduce JS Payload.
• Use Critical CSS .
• Reduce Large Image Sizes
• Compress Images
• Limit Third Party JavaScript & Shopify Apps
• Preload Web Fonts. 
• I would suggest limiting to one and using a standard web font.

Hello, Thanks for pointing out possible issues.

Atleast we did find we are using five versions old theme, so im going to update theme right away and be careful with apps. Im not sure what the old developer did, but he did edit lot of code and removing some of the old app code was too painful. So fresh start is nice to have also.

• Remove all Unwanted Shopify App ( That you have installed, but not using) Done.
  
• Minify Javascript, CSS Need to check this
  
• Reduce the Large Image Size Done for most of images, but there is oversized images.
  
• Eliminating the halting problem in Javascript
• Apply Lazy loading per section wherever required Done for all videos manually and for pictures by theme
  
• Replace Gifs with the Static Images We dont have Gifs
  
• Resize Products images using Shopify App ( for Bulk ) Is there app for that? Seems like "TinyIMG SEO & Image Optimizer" did not do that...Hmm weird.
  
• Check Page Speed by Google page Insight and GTmetrix. Done multiple times
