Why is my new website loading slowly?

We just launch our site 4 weeks ago! My site  is loading very slow!!

I  would  appreciate if someone with experience in this matter,  can take a look  at our site and  the different reports and points us  in  the right direction of  what the problem could be? or has solution ..?

Hi Strompe,

I took a very very quick look at network in the browser to see what your site was doing and it seems really chatty to me with a few errors (I could be wrong, just my initial impression). Always be careful with asset size too  (images, etc). At least this may be a place to start. If you have a developer you might want to have them take a look. Might point you in the right direction a bit.

It didn't load slow for me, but I did a quick analysis and see a couple things you can do to improve:

1) Image optimization

I'm seeing some warnings for image compression and oversized images:

2) Home Page Slider

Loading a slider plugin + multiple large images at the top of your home page contributes to a perceived slower loading time. I recommend swapping that out with a single image (and no slider plugin).

3) Image File Type

You have a lot of heavy PNG images (reference: https://analyze.speedboostr.com/result/fnuhu0n10c/rule/totalWeight).

For photographic images, you should use JPG. It will give the same quality but much lower file size.

I think @JoesIdeas mentioned succinctly about the images.

In terms of chatty - it is quite a chatty site (which does affect speed) but I think if you work on what @JoesIdeas mentions you will see improvements. Things like complex websites are a work in progress rather than a 'fix everything now' problem (because you're in this for years, right?).

Once you work on the images you will see improvements.

Then review what other issues you think you have.

Fix those, rinse and repeat - it's a never ending process of improvement.

As long as you boost sales and look after your existing customers and provide amazing service the website will become almost secondary. I feel too many people focus on their website and new sales without remembering the very real fact that over time you can capture new sales with a less than perfect website based on amazing service (which I'm sure you already have!).
