Why is my SSL still pending after 48 hours?

Hello. I responded to a very old thread already, so I apologize for the duplicative thread. I'm not sure if my reply in that thread will be seen since it's so old. So, I'm starting one fresh. I do see a lot of people inquiring about the same concern.

 

I too have had an SSL Pending message for over 48 hours. I did add a couple of CAA records to the DNS per a Shopify help thread, but not sure if it's needed.

In my Alerts, yesterday (2/18) early in the morning I have two messages stating I have Custom Domain Errors. Clicking them takes me to the Shopify Domains and I only see the SSL Pending. 

Will you please advise on how I can make my store accessible?

This is an accepted solution.

Your DNS records appear to be set up correctly (based on your screenshot). 

 

I'd give it another 24 hours, and if it still shows as pending, then reach out to Shopify's support team directly, to have them reset the SSL certificate for you. Sometimes, the SSL can get 'stuck' when being issued, and Shopify just needs to manually reset it (on their end) for things to work correctly.

I had to reach out directly to Shopify support. They reprovisioned the certificate and it went through immediately. The support rep recommended not having the CAA records in my DNS, despite finding that information on Shopify help.
