I have submitted my website fragromance.co.uk to Google merchant center. At first it was approved then after a few days it was suspended due to website needs improvement. After speaking to numerous Google specialist I have found that there is a problem with my website. They are asking for policies to be in the footer of my website with links. They are all correctly showing on my website. But the thing is that they use a website called Geopeeker.com to check websites. And to my surprise when I check my website using this tool the footer of the website is not being rendered. Whereas it is clearly showing when I myself access my website from different devices and proxies. For this reason Google has suspended my account. I would appreciate if someone could help me out. Also as a bonus to others as well I have found out that this issue is persistent with other Shopify stores as well. Please anyone can help!?
Google uses many tools to check for policy compliance.
For example, I recommend you add your business contact details in the footer of all pages.
For example, you are located in Germany but targeting UK. Unless this is an additional site, if its your first site then Google will most likely not approve you.
So if you are in Germany, make sure that you first setup a website and target Germany, once you have built up a enough trust signals, expand into other countries.
Hi,
Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I'm actually experiencing the same issue with Geopeeker and Google.
Thanks,
Rogier
Missing content from Geopeeker, generally refers to slow loading. Consider checking your website with other testing tools that can show the speed of your site. And explain if its slow or not. Such as Pingdom Speed Test. (Search on Google)
Any update on this at all please. I have the same issue and its not the speed aspect in geopeeker.com, the footer is just not displaying therefore i can't get approved in google merchant centre 😞
Did you manage to find a fix? I have the same issue with footer not displaying. I also removed a section that was in the center of my homepage which is now appearing as a blank area on the geopeeker render. I also have had no response from geopeeker support to three emails I have sent them. I cannot believe Google are relying on a buggy app which appears to have no proper support available!
Hi Fragrom, Can I ask how you fixed this please?
I've had the same issue. After some investigation, I figured out that Geopeeker works poorly when you have a slideshow at the top of a page with the height set to FULL. You can fix this really quickly by changing height to large or any other value. It could look not as good as full but if you want to make slide height larger you can overwrite it with custom CSS.
For anyone else with this issue, the solution for our site (running Spotlight Theme v 14.0) was to disable 'reveal sections on scroll'.
The setting is found in Footer → Theme Settings → Uncheck 'reveal sections on scroll'. See screenshot below.
