So I’m trying to set up my store front and I can’t seem to get an option to make a categories. Why is this not appearing?
Hi, @Frankenbunny27. Thank you for posting your question! This definitely shouldn't be happening. Was this working correctly for you before or has the Collection tab always been missing? Have you noticed anything else missing from your Shopify admin?
Since I'm not able to replicate this on my side, and I haven't seen any reports of this missing in admins, it's possible that there is something local going on. That is, something relating to the browser, device or network you're currently using. I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to get this working correctly:
Ensure that pop-ups are not being blocked on the web browser.
Try accessing this page from another device. For example, a different computer, mobile phone, or tablet. If you're trying this on a mobile device, also try using the Shopify Mobile app. This can help rule out device issues.
Try viewing your Shopify admin using a different internet connection. For example, try switching to a cellular network on a phone, rather than WiFi.
Ensure there are no firewalls or VPNs enabled on the device or network, as these can also interfere. If using a VPN, try setting it to another location, or switching it off.
If it's still not working after that, I recommend reaching out to our live support team here so we can look into this with you some more. Cache troubleshooting - For basic and up plans check for this problem on a different device+browser if issue isn't present on a different device & browser then clear the browser-cache on the original system you were had the issue on and check again.
Which plan are you on?
Unless it's changed the low cost plans do not have collections.
@Erin can you confirm this is true for 2023 or if it's in the manual any where?
It's kinda hard to find features by omission in the docs, and the pricing plan page never bothers to have this level of granularity.
