Why is the vendor's name in the title of my google search?

When I search for my product on Google Shopping, My vendor's name is the first word in the title. How do I get rid of that? I have already gone through the product and collections where I unclick "show product vendor" so why is this still showing up in the Google search?

Check if this is how the title is received by Google.

Go to Google Merchant Center > Products > all products > click on your product > scroll to the bottom and view final attributes.

If the title is included here, that means this is how your data feed app is sending the title to Google.

If you don't like it, you could use feed rules to remove it: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en

However first, check if you can not resolve the issue in your data feed app.

I'm having the same issue.  All my products show correct title info under Google's Merchant Final Attributes, however SOME products show the VENDOR name as a "Prefix" in the Product TITLE in Google Shopping Search Results.  What't causing this? How do I fix this? Txs

There are two reasons this can happen.

You have a brand name Printify, and in some cases if the brand name is missing from the title. Google will automatically add the brand name.

Or if you are in a grouped selection, Google will use the title of any merchant within that group that has the highest performing title.

How to fix? Don't add Printify as the brand name. Only add the brand name that is officially stamped on the product packaging.

I don’t have a Brand name. Shopify has a required field called “Vendor” which is where you see value “Printify”. I can’t remove the vendor name from Shopify’s products as that field controls multiple features within Shopify.  It seems to me that Google imports the Vendor field as “brand”. It doesn’t make sense that Google would them concaténate the “brand” + “product title” and ONLY FOR SOME PRODUCTS when displaying products within Google Shopping.  Right next to that product with this issue is another product with a perfectly good clean Title that doesn’t contain the “vendor/brand” prefix in the tile.   Why is Google displaying the Shopify internal Vendor field for some products?  How can I fix this?

thanks

If you need to edit data in Google Merchant Center, you can use feed rules to clear things up, such as clear attribute or search and replace: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en

Why Google is displaying, because you are using an app that automates data that you have. It's very normal.

If you want more control at source, consider using a more advanced app such as: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Have you found a way to remove the Vendor name in your Google Shopping listings? I'm facing the exact same thing - SOME of the listing are showing the Vendor.

@Jchon Have you used the feed rules? This is the solution.

I use feed rules to apply bulk edits every week.

Simply make sure you reprocess all the data after you apply the feed rules for it to apply using a supplement feed with all your IDs
