I have a video playing on my home page from Vimeo. But when checking my speed there are 4 things heavily slowing it down. But I’m not sure if these are to do with Vimeo or not.

I have attached an image of the issues.

the web site is www.cykelhouse.com

Hi @CykelHouse ,

This is PageFly - Free Landing Page Builder. I would love to provide my recommendations for your store based on 6 years of providing solutions for about 120.000 active Shopify merchants.

I saw that you got some answers but I want to tell you one more way and tips to test your speed and optimize it. I just tested your website on both my Samsung and iPhone and PageSpeed Insights app. You can see the reason via its’ report here: https://pagespeed.web.dev/report?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcykelhouse.com%2F

Your page works quite well on the desktop but so slow on mobile. You should consider the mobile analytic results:

  1. The biggest reason that makes your page run slowly is from JavaScript code. You should consider removing deprecated JavaScript, CSS code to reduce the number of bytes available for network activity. Please check your theme.liquid file and remove unused JavaScript

2. A small comment for optimizing your images and delayed loading of off-screen images:

Consider partially loading hidden and off-screen images after all your important resources have been loaded to reduce interaction time.

If you want to optimize your images to help your page loading speed faster, you can use some of the image optimization tools like: ImageOptim, Shopify Online Image Resizer, tinypng.com or imagecompressor.com.

And If you have images that go with .PNG file, you can convert them to .JPG or .JPEG files

Besides, you should check both Mobile and Desktop devices in the report to have maximize the effectiveness of speed optimization:

Finally, you can consider some tips to improve the speed page about How to Speed Up Website and Optimize Page Load Time To Win Sales.

We are PageFly a Shopify page builder to customize your page, our app provides the Lazyload function and it's easy to use with a drag-and-drop system and less code needed. Here is a reference

If you find my comment useful, you can like it. And let me know if you want further assistance.

Have a great day!

Hi, that’s really helpful info thanks.

but I’m really just trying to figure out what the code is I put up in the picture? There are 4 lots of it and it’s really slowing it down. But I only have 1 video. So not sure why there is so many versions of a similar thing.

it does look like it is the Video. I think the video file must be .M4S.

.m4s files are individual media segments of one complete file. They are in the ISO Base Media File (ISOBMFF) format. The idea is to split one longer file (e.g. think of one movie encoded as an .mp4 file) into individual files that can be downloaded independently via HTTP.

This would explain the multiple links in the speed test. Not sure if this is Vimeo creating the issue or your store theme but I hope this helps!

p.s I recommend using GT Metrix for your speed scoring
