Hi I applied discount as below
But when I check out, the subtotal cart doesn't show about discount details. I was expecting that there is a phrase or display somewhere that the customer will get another product for free. What has happened?

The Buy X, Get Y discount will require all products to be added to the cart in order to apply as expected. Please ensure both items (Buy X, Get Y) are included in the cart at checkout, prior to adding the discount code. In this case, you need to add 4 items to the cart to get the price deducted for 1 item.

As explained by @AvadaCommerce, for Buy X get Y discounts customers will need to add in the Y product on cart in order for the system to apply the discount to their cart. I've provided a visual example below so that you can see what the discount looks like when both X and Y products have been included on cart:
If you're looking for the system to automatically add the Y product on cart however, without the customer having to do so on their end, you'll need to install a third-party app on your store. There are many discount apps on our Shopify App store that can help you achieve this, a couple of popular ones that you can take a look at are the Quantity Breaks & Discounts app here, as well as the Automatic Discount & Gifts app here.
Just a note that these apps are created by developers outside of Shopify, so for any questions about them you can reach out to the app support team directly.

Hi I tried to add the product but it seems that they are not applying discount as expected. Could you please have a look into it once more?
Have you double checked that the products on cart match the conditions that were set out on the discount, as seen on the image below?
