Why isn't my purchased domain connecting to my primary website?

I have purchased a domain from domain.com and linked it as shopify primary domain. However,its been two days my website is not live and the domain is not getting connected.

In order for a domain to be connected to your store and be functional, it has to have the following DNS records:

 

  • A record: 23.227.38.65
  • CNAME record: shops.myshopify.com

 

To ensure your domain has been configured correctly, I recommend double-checking your DNS settings. Since you have a third-party domain, you may contact your domain provider for assistance in doing so.

 

If you confirm that your domain has the appropriate DNS records but is still not connecting to your store properly, there may be some DNS records that are present that shouldn't be. We can help you determine this when you create a support ticket and speak to our support team. Please feel free to visit our support page if you find that you need to.

 

After your domain is sorted, make sure to set up email hosting if you haven't done this yet so you can have a professional custom email that reflects your domain (e.g. info@yourstore.com). Having a custom email is highly beneficial for your business as it can build consistent branding and trust. You can sign up with an email hosting platform such as Zoho Mail or Google Workspace. You'll find more information about email hosting on this page.
