I have successfully connected my Shopify account with my Facebook and Instagram accounts, however my Instagram account is not displaying my shop anywhere. I think there is supposed to be a "View Shop" button, but it isn't showing. My IG handle is @humble.housewives
Hey @maryefern,
Great question!
To add the "View Shop" button on Instagram, you will need to have a business account and be set up as a merchant on the Instagram Checkout feature. Here are the steps you can follow to add the "View Shop" button to your Instagram profile:
Please note that the "View Shop" button on Instagram is only available to certain businesses based on their locations and business categories, and requires you to have a Facebook shop.
Keep in mind that Shopify links your product catalog to Instagram, but it cannot enable product tagging on Instagram or enable the "View Shop" button as this is controlled by Instagram.
If the Facebook channel in your Shopify admin indicates that everything is connected, there isn't any further action to take from within the admin. Once you've confirmed that your Facebook and Instagram business pages are connected to one another and you can access your Shopping settings from Commerce Manager, I recommend going through the troubleshooting steps for the Instagram app to see if that recovers the Shopping settings.
Let me know how that goes!

Unfortunately after following all of those steps, my shop still isn't showing up. Even when I go to set up an action button, the only action buttons available to me are: "Order food", "Book now" and "Reserve." Actually, even my Facebook shop isn't showing up. Inside the Commerce Manager of the Meta Business Suite, it shows that my shop is "Active" on both Facebook and Instagram, so it appears to have connected. My catalog shows all of the products from Shopify have synced. However, when I view my profile on Facebook and go to the Shop tab, it appears blank.
I have the same problem. Were you able to resolve this issue?
Hi Moira,
Can you elaborate on "please note that the "View Shop" button on Instagram is only available to certain businesses based on their locations and business categories, and requires you to have a Facebook shop?" Which business categories is this available to? Where can I find a list to make sure I have chosen the right category?
Hey @goodatlife,
To elaborate on the "View Shop" button;
On 27 April 2023, Meta announced changes to Shops support across different regions:

Hi,
I have just come across this thread as I am having trouble getting “view shop” button to work in Instagram. I get error saying content not available in this region. I am in the UK and according to the EMEA link you provided above, I think it should work.
Any advise? When I click on the product, that works ok. I am @rebeccahurstart on IG and FB
thank you 😊
I should add, the button appears, just doesn’t direct me to my shop. 😊
Hey @RHurst!
Hmm this is strange, it appears your store may be affected "Advertisers can continue using elements of the Shops experience on Facebook and Instagram until further notice".
Was your account definitely setup in the UK? The location of an advertiser's shop is determined based on the location of the commerce account that it is associated with.
Otherwise, I would suggest reaching out to Meta so they can determine why your region isn't compatible.

Hi, I'm encountering the same issues listed on this thread. Has a solution been provided?
Have you checked the Meta articles above regarding the updates to Shops? For some regions, Shop is no longer available.

None of the solutions posted here explained my issue. As it turns out, shop owners will not see the View Shop button on their profile while they're logged into that account. If you switch to another IG account (I have a personal one and a business one), you can navigate to the account with the shop and should see the button visible. Or, ask a friend to send you a screenshot. 😉 Hope that helps!
That's great to hear, thank you for sharing for others who may come across this thread!

Yes! This solved the mystery. I logged into a different Instagram profile and then used the search feature to pull up my main Instagram account. And, I could see the Shop button at last. Thank you!
I am having the same trouble. When I go to Shopping in my business profile, it shows the connection to my inventory and UGG; however, the View Shop button is still now showing on my Instagram Profile @goodatlifewellness.
I am having the same issue! I have a shop based in the US that seems to meet all of the guidelines mentioned above. I also have a working IG and FB shop that's accessible from my project, however I am not able to add the "View Shop" action button to my IG profile page. I just checked your IG handle @goodatlifewellness and it appears this is also still an issue for you as well?
