Hello,

i have a problem with CSV file because when i add a csv file and wait to load nothing happens.

Product CSV files are limited to a maximum size of 15MB. This is explained in this guide here. There isn't a way to increase this size requirement so to fix this you'll want to make sure the file size is less than 15MB.

Hi, @BartoszHunek. I'm happy to look into this with you! I just have a few questions to make sure I'm understanding what's happening on your end. I want to make sure I give you helpful advice going forward.

  • What steps are you taking to add this CSV file?
  • What kind of information are you importing with your CSV file? For example, is this for products, customers, inventory, etc.?
  • Are you seeing any error messages in your Shopify admin, or receiving any emails from Shopify, with more information about what happened with the CSV file?

Hi @Erin 

I go to the products tab and in the upper right corner click the Import button.

I have no error response after that.

I want to import a file with products.

Hi, @BartoszHunek. Thank you for getting back to me with that context! I have a few more questions about the file you're importing.

  • Where did you get the CSV template? For example, are you using the sample product CSV template found here? Are you exporting a CSV file of your products first, editing that file, and then re-importing it with the updates? Or did you create your CSV file a different way?
  • What program are you using to edit or modify the file?

After you import your CSV file you should receive a confirmation email from Shopify at the email account used to set up your Shopify store. Are you able to double check if you've received any emails about the imports you've attempted? Most issues with CSV files would be explained in the confirmation email. It can help you know what needs to be fixed for it to work correctly. You can find examples of some common error messages and how to fix them here.

 

If you haven't received any emails about the files you've imported, I recommend you try to import products again by following the steps in this guide on importing products with CSV files. When reviewing this guide, you'll want to pay close attention to the way the file is formatted, specifically each column and the information required for each column. This page on importing products can help with this as well. It includes a video, and some points to consider before importing products.

HI @Erin 

i think the file is too big because when i download a smaller one everything works fine.
Is there a way I could fix this?
