Discuss and resolve questions on Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels, and site speed enhancements.
Hi,
I am considering changing themes but I have had my current theme customized by adding wholesale inventory and checkout with password protection.
My question is this- If I change themes, will I lose the wholesale additions or will the code stay the same, leaving my wholesale side intact?v Or will I need to have the wholesale addition done again for the new theme?
Thanks for any help on this question.
Christy

Hi Christy,
Choosing a new theme is always an exciting time!
You have however come across one of the challenges, which is that any code customizations, including app installations need to be implemented on the new theme.
The good news is that most theme function in a similar way so you shouldn’t have too much trouble carrying over your wholesale customizations - the best course of action would be to get back in contact with the developer who made these changes for you and ask for a price quote to carry it over to a new theme.
If the wholesale functionalities were added through and app, then the apps support team will be able to help you carry it over.
Out of interest, what theme are you planning on changing to?

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the info. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that but I figured it would be needed. I am currently using the Minimal theme, thinking of switching to Craft- I installed Craft on another site I have and I really like it. The functionality and customizations are more in line with what I am looking for.
Thanks again~ Christy
