Thank you Noah. Unfortunately, that did not work. I already had that code in my theme file because I had a coupon blocking the product options. It brought the product options to the front. But it doesn't work on the sort by options. 

My announcement bar and another part of my header appear above the sort by variables so the options are covered up by them.  How can I change the z-index of those options to cover the announcement bar and part of my header? I hope this makes sense.  ...

Thank you so much! this works perfect on my collection pages but there is a space between the bottom of the header and the top of the breadcrumbs on the product pages on desktop.  On mobile and tablet it works but the top of my product photos scrolld...
