I've totally given up on this quest! I just use one of their presets and had to deal with my images being wonky for a while until i uploaded enough new product to have some semblance of balance again.
All of the images on our website are in a 4:3 (3:4) ratio but the button is now missing. Can anyone advise me? There is no way I'm going through hundreds of products and switching them to 2:3 ratio, which is the only portrait orientation I'm seeing...

Ugh, it's terrible. I don't understand how this is an improvement. And the explanation from the Shopify staff for this nonsense update is a mile long. If it takes that long to explain it, it's too complicated!

I'm with you Kimberley. It's like Shopify wants us to make mistakes. There is too much clutter and room for error with the update.
