Unfortunately the only solution for now is to create a custom metafield for your filter instead of using tags.
@Shopify It would be really useful to be able to select tags or a group of tags for a single filter.It's a thousand times easier to apply tags to products rather than creating a metafield and use it as a filter. Any update soon?
