I ended up using Klaviyo. The free version is enough for my purposes. The funny thing is that it’s EXACTLY like the Shopify automation tool, but Shopify doesn’t let you send it unless the purchaser subscribed to marketing, and Klaviyo does.

I would love this option, especially as a gift card.  It would be great to tie the gift card to an account as credit.  If a customer bought a GC, they shouldn't have to add the code every time they want to use it, especially if it's a large gift card...
