It is my understanding that this simple and basic function is not something that the fancy Shopify system can handle.
I just ended a chat with Shopify Plus support about this issue. There is still NO option to disable POS notifications. Shopify, do better!

Just came here to say that it's May 2023 and this BASIC FEATURE to disable POS notifications is still not an option. Shopify, do better!
