Hey! Its hard to know with out knowing how the searchbar HTML is structured. My guess would be is the icon and the expanded search area are in the same div and moving that brought it out of alignment. Does removing your code returns it to normal?

Im not familiar with that theme but if you theme is using OS 2.0 there should be area in the customizer, when selecting the section, where you can add custom CSS.
This would involve adding custom Javascript. You would need to add a Javascript event listener that watches for clicks on the variant selector element and force a refresh. https://www.w3schools.com/js/js_htmldom_eventlistener.asp

Depending on how the tabs were styled you could apply css style transition - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/transition
This is less of a Shopify setting and more of a cloudflare settings. I would message cloudflare support and they could walk you thought adjusting you domain settings.
