Taxes should be charged for Texas orders only. We use Report Toaster tocalculate our non taxable sales every month (annoying that it's not easilydone in Shopify that I've been able to find). 
Thank you for your kind offer, but we fixed it.  There was a bug associated with a shipping calculator widget which we removed.
Last night our shopping cart began entering 100,000's of items when a customer tried to purchase a single item, then calculated shipping based on that. So, a $30 book became $300,000 plus 65,000 shipping. Horrified, a customer emailed me. I had no id...

Thank you Olivia, I really appreciate it.  I do not KNOW if our store is a Headless Shopify store,  but I'd bet it is not, and I will be most unhappy if I find out it is, since our business does not require that level of customization and we function...
I apologize, and I hope you see this.  There is apparently something called "Headless Shopify" in which Headless Shopify is an architecture where the front-end (your custom storefront) and back-end (Shopify) of your website are independent. This allo...
Hi Olivia,I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate your response, and Iapologize for being less than clear! I was trying not to do the TMI thingbut maybe I did not give quite enough information. We had a Shopify website in 2020. HFB Technologi...
We currently have a Shopify site that is hosted on HFB's development servers in Utah.  We are paying HFB monthly for basically no help and would like to discontinue that.  If they just take our site off their servers, our site will crash and burn app...
Hey there Ashley! Here's what I do. Customers in Texas get charged sales tax. No one elsedoes and we are small enough that it's not an issue (to worry about havingto pay sales tax in other states).Every month I go through our sales ledger and add up t...
Just items sold in Texas  If it's shipped out of state the systemshouldn't charge sales tax. That changes if your sales are over someridiculous number like a million dollars or something (think Amazon) butfor most of us, just charge sales tax on Tex...
You do not pay or charge tax on the out of state items
No.  You only file state sales tax in the state you are physically located in.
Yes, but only if your business is located here in Texas (we are a brick andmortar store with an online presence).
Yes, that's exactly what the last poster is saying.  I was incorrectly under the impression that we had to charge tax on purchases going to states other than Texas.  Apparently we just charge sales tax for sales in Texas (as a Texas business).
Thank you so much Gigistexas!I did some research tonight that suggests we actually don't have to chargetax on out of state sales from texas, which brings up a separate accountingnightmare...but...hey, one nightmare is as good as the next, right/
