I have used the draft order and entered the cc info the customers gave me for 2 orders this week. While it works, it was tedious because I have autocalc on for tax charges, and the draft order assumes nexus/presence of a store where I am. I also am worried about a High Risk designation if I put too many high dollar (bulk sales) transactions through Shopify draft orders using my customers' credit cards. Many of them ship to construction sites and not the billing address.
I have QB Online and could invoice by email, but my customers like calling in there cc info as well. Shopify really does need to look into a virtual terminal for cc processing!
Before I switched to Shopify, I have used on with other carts both PayPal and Authorize.net. I prefer PayPal VT to Authorize.net VT by far, even though I do not need the PP API any longer for my cart cc processing now I have Shopify. I also have Shopify POS - only the VT is missing. I hate to pay for total merchant services at another company just to get the includfed VT.
I am now looking for the least expensive monthly charge for one and do not like that I have to add another "dashboard" to process my phone orders.
I am going to look into Square to see if it is less expensive as an interim solution. If anyone knows of any other user-friendly, secure and reliable (inexpensive) Virtual Terminal apps, I would appreciate hearing about them. Otherwise, I guess I will use PayPal again.
Thanks very much.
