I'm only finding out about this one week before migrating our shop from Magento to Shopify. :( This seems like such a basic feature that I didn't even think it could be unavailable.
I'm a bit confused as to how we will do effective marketing now. And this is also the first time that I had second thoughts about moving to Shopify. Why is Shopify ignoring requests of a feature that has a demonstrable effect on the bottom line of its clients?
I'll be looking into loyalty points system, maybe they can be a workaround. Also, Receiptful does automatic one off codes when customers place an order. But this doesn't help with getting customers to actually place an order in the first place.
Hope we hear from Shopify soon about this basic feature.
