I can't believe there is still no resolution here.  Is there another way to request this sort of feature?  This thread has been going for a long time and it doesn't seem to be a big ask.  Could we start an email campaign or chat at the support staff ...

Fully agree.  It's especially glaring when every other tab I have open has a dark mode.  Shopify is hard to look at for too long.
