just a follow up...   submitted for Validate Fix on 12/14/22 (after seeing here that's what others were doing)... finally on 1/7/23 three and a half weeks later got a confirmation that "Page indexing issues successfully fixed for site"

Got the same back on Dec 10.  Before looking here for insight, traced it back to not being blocked in robots.txt (was it before?). Hoping with so many having the same issue, they'll automagically fix it for us all.Will monitor.
