I've implemented additional webhooks in my Shopify setup to receive data, and as a result, it's now triggering updated events even for past orders dating back to 2022.
I've received webhook "orders/updated" for approximately 9,000 historical orders today
We are also having this problem with our store. Orders from 2022 and before are being sent through our Webhooks which is causing issues for a number of our users thinking they have been charged again for an older purchase.
Any note or help from Shopify on this would be greatly appreciated as it is overwhelming our support team.
Thank you for your updates. Hope Shopify can help us soon
We are experiencing the exact same issue and are now implementing a check to ensure that the webhook for an order is not older than a week. If it is, we will send a warning notification.
Experiencing the exact same behaviour, super annoying
I am having the same issue. Thousands of orders from 2022 are being 'updated'.
I sync my Shopify data to an external database using an ETL. These errenous 'order updates' have caused a huge amount of historical data to resync costing me $$$$ in ETL fees.
This needs an urgent fix and resolution. I have reported the issue to Shopify chat but so far they have been unable to support.
We are also facing same issue, Orders from more than a year ago are updated, and we being an ETL tool got a huge spike for all our clients and complaining for increase cost.
Does anyone got any response from Shopify regarding the incident, what happened and when?
Also is anyone still seeing the issue or is it resolved now?
Any update from shopify is highly needed and would be appreciated.
Fivetran is automatically crediting customers, if that is the ETL tool you use. Still, agree that we shouldn't need to deal with this.
