Sourcing, reselling, and dropshipping products
Hi Everyone, first post here.
I am the manufacturer, I have a Shopify store, I wholesale and sell off my website. I have a person out west who wants to add my product to their store and I would drop ship it for them. All the information I can find is how to set up a drop shipping business, I can't seem to find anything helping out the dropship-'ee'.
Mostly I'm wondering about how I keep my inventory current with orders that aren't going through my store, and how I would print shipping labels, it seems like a big hassle if I need to duplicate all orders manually that would come through them...? Any other makers out there that could point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
Hi, my app Simple Purchase Orders can definitely meet your needs. It allows shops to set up suppliers and import products and set cost prices. You can then automatically generate purchase orders from orders their customers make and it will import all of the items they order and their address and email it to you as their supplier. It can also handle splitting orders into multiple POs where the items have different suppliers. This should help them reduce time spent fulfilling orders and eliminate mistakes.
Please check it out and let me know if you have any questions
Hi @anna66
We recommend you to create a supplier app similar to EPROLO and Drophippo. They have their own products and allows Shopify store owners to import products and process orders.
Hi, thanks for your reply, but both those apps are for people who want to be drop shippers. I have someone (one person) who wants to drop ship my products, I am looking for an app I could use so she could order from my store so i wouldn't have to redo every order she sends me manually.
thanks
Did you find the solution?
I have the same issue, and none of the Shopify gurus were able to help me.
I have the same issue: I want to CONTROL who is allowed to drop ship our products. I have yet to find help or a suggestion that helps me, either.
I am considering either opening a second wholesale-only store and use Locksmith to control accounts and logins. I am just not sure if the buyer can enter any name and address as ship-to.
I find it so hard to believe that no one drop ships for their retail buyers.
Interesting. This is not really an answer but hopefully some useful info...
This would need to be created as an app but this type of app would be better suited for an open source environment and not Shopify.
We could create something like this but it would be expensive.
In its basic form...
a) Manufacturer or Supplier would have their own inventory on their website
b) Dropshippers would need to apply for account (email be sent, paperwork approval, etc. by manufacturer)
c) Upon account approval, Manufacturer activates the account of dropshipper, email is sent to dropshipper
d) Dropshipper would have to install Manufacturer App (app would sync every hour (less time would use resources))
e) Dropshipper could choose which products to add to site and mark up products
f) Once dropshipper makes a sale update inventory on both the dropshipper and manufacturer website (small issue with permissions on both the dropship and manufacturer side)
Would have dropshipper cc on file for the order or paypal or enter at time of order if not automated (bill to dropshipper) and ship to customer.
Of course I am missing a lot of items, but technically, if this app were to be created would probably be better programmed into Shopify Plus stores as they have more access to open code environment.
Just wanted to put out a basic answer as you would still need a third party service to host the data sync that hooks both the Manufacturer App and the Dropshipper Apps together.
Hi @anna66
This writing will tell you the way to print a shipping label on Shopify. And below are guides that help you do drop ship better and easier:
Hope it helps!
@anna66 did you come up with a solve? @OsoAndBean I'm looking for the same solution ! It might be easier for me because I'm looking to just dropship two products to one retailer at the moment, but I'm thinking about creating a discount code to give to the retailer...so they sell on their website then come to mine and input the details of the customer and then the retailer pays using the dropship discount code. Anyway, since there's not an app, I'm going to try this way!
Hi! i have the same question.
i currently sell my product direct to individual consumers and to wholesale customers. I want to be able to sell my product through drop shipping channels and have it offered on other peoples websites.
where do i begin??
