Sourcing, reselling, and dropshipping products
Hi,
I have imported several products to my Alibaba import list and now I want to import them to my store.
My questions are:
1) do I need an app for this?
2) can I do it manually?
3) should I contact the suppliers?
In case I manage to do it manually how can I update prices and shipment costs when they change or the item is not available?
At (3): the suppliers told me "through the API" but nobody knows what they mean!

This is an accepted solution.
OK guys,
I just found the solution - not that I'm suprised as a veteran of GitHub!
All you have to do is add your store name as "mystore" from "mystore.myshopify.com" at the popup when you press the button "Add store" at Alibaba site under Import List (https://dropshipping.alibaba.com/saas/import-list.html) after you have logged in.
Immediately after you are moved to your Shopify store and install the app "Dropshipping on Alibaba.com":
When installation is finished press the app and you see a popup:
I did all the heavy lifting and created an import list at Alibaba + edited the pages + keywords + prices based on the shippment costs and the profit I want:
So my math give: 1.99 wholeshale + 5.51 shipment + 5 profit = 12.5$ sell price.
Now, Alibaba site shows import success:
At Products still in Alibaba dropshipment I can see what has been moved from Import List:
A good idea is to create excel sheets with wholesaler + description + price + shipment + profit + link one for the import list and one for similar but rejected items as a backup in future.
By pressing "View in store" I can see it at my store at Shopify this time under Products:
Now, Shopify clever enough updates my prices to euro so in my previous example of 12.5$ it shows a price of 11.15 eu while the converter from Google shows 11.02 eu:
So, the 0.13 eu is Shopify's commision? Don't know yet....
I also have to check if shipment to a country with higher cost destroys my profit or the price is updated accordingly?
There are many apps could help you import alibaba product info into Shopify, you just need google. Thus import automatically or manually totally depend on your requirements. I suggest you contact the supplier to confirm the product info and their policy, it should be helpful for your marketing. For example, the material, dropshipping wholesale price, stock, real product photos without PS, delivery time etc.
Alibaba has sth called Import List at dropshipping category; I built one with the products I found; it also gives me shipping methods to chose, days etc.
The problem is that all apps ignore the existence of this list!
Behind the popup you can see at the top "Please add your Shopify or WooCommerce store" and at the bottom right the button "Push to store".
This is an accepted solution.
