I'm just starting out with my dropshipping business and my niche is mainly cute, trendy merchandises. The thing is, I've came upon various trademarked items, such as Pikachu plush toys and wanted to put it on my store. I then contacted the supplier with this message:
Hello, we are a drop shipping company that came upon your cute product. Before we put this on our shop, we just wanted to know if you are licensed to sell this item, so we may sell this in our country legally. Please let me know as soon as you can! Thank you so much.
They then replied back to us with a confirmation that they do have the license to sell. So is it safe to trust them? Will this interaction protect me and my store from being sued/taken down?
No, you can't sell items that are trademarked. Without a safe and legal strategy, dropshipping trademarked products will feel like walking on thin ice. As a general rule of thumb, you should never sell anything that is branded with a trademark. This is highly illegal.
