I am having an absolutely terrible time trying to set up Google Merchant Center on my e-shop. I still get the error that my product categories aren’t entered correctly. Whenever I try to go and fix this, I can actually choose the category, it gets switched to it’s ID but the error is still there, no matter what I do.
Anyone experienced this?

Please note that submitting the google product category is not required, because if you don’t submit the value, Google will auto assign one based on your data.
To report the issues to Google use this form: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app
But the google and youtube app is honestly not a great app in my opinion, it does not allow you to map advanced rules to a value, I prefer to use https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds for my clients.
So you have several ways forward, don’t submit the value, submit the value in GMC instead, or use a different app.
