1000s OF FAKE CUSTOMER ACCOUNT SIGN UPS!

I am losing my mind, I am getting FLOODED with 100s and 1000s of fake customer sign ups every week.

It is completely messing up my email marketing and is putting my business on hold and costing god knows how much (since I can’t email market to these bozos).

They look like this below.

I have

  • Removed newsletter sign up.
  • Removed any customer sign up/contact info pages.

Any solution? My last possibility is to create a new theme incase mine was maliciously infected, but that is literally days of work and time I don’t have (plus I love my theme!!)

I think your fake sign-ups are from bots. Have you tried these two methods yet?

  1. Enable reCAPTCHA for your store: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/setting-up/preferences
  2. Require double opt-in for subscribers: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/create-marketing/customer-contact-information#enable-double-opt-in-for-subscribers

Hello, is it feasible to display a certain accessory without the need for an app when a specific product is being checked out?
