1600 sessions, 0 sales

Here’s my store:

https://actipulse.com.au/products/electric-muscle-gun-massager

Running tiktok ads, got 1600 sessions yesterday, but only 4 add to carts, and 0 sales.

What can I do to improve? What’s driving people away from this product?

Anxious to fix this and hopefully start making sales.

Thanks!

Hi there @ActiPulse The first thing I’ll add to your store is sections for best selling products and latest arrivals. This would help make navigation a bit more straightforward for a lot of customers.

I think it would also be a great idea to have a few GIFs or short videos of your products in action, this would be especially helpful for people who are a bit confused as to how they are meant to operate and whatnot.

lastly, you should consider adding links to your social media pages at the bottom of the homepage. This would not only make your store seem more credible but it would also make it easier for customers to stay updated with happenings in the store.

I wish you and your store the best of luck!

While these are good suggestions, the tiktok ads are only advertising the massage gun, and almost all those sessions were solely on the massage gun page, which makes me think the problem is there.

The gif’s are a good idea, as well as social links but I’m not sure if those are large enough fixes to warrant such a low conversion rate. Is there some other glaring problem with it? Is it too expensive?

Thanks for replying

Hi @ActiPulse ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.

Congrats on your store! Your store looks stunning. I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building this. However, I have some comments to make the good get even better. Here are some of my recommendations for better customer experience, please kindly check.

1. Improve Call-to-Action (CTA) Buttons
Ensure the “Buy Now” or similar buttons are prominent, visually appealing, and action-oriented. Add urgency with phrases like “Limited Time Offer” or “Claim Yours Today” to encourage quicker decisions.

2. Trust Signals:

Highlight trust factors, like verified customer reviews, safety certifications, or endorsements. These build credibility and reassure potential buyers.

3. Content Layout:

Use concise bullet points for features to improve readability, especially for mobile users. Ensure all images are displayed correctly, as some currently fail to load.

4. Visual Appeal:

Include videos or animations showing the massager in action, emphasizing ease of use and benefits like muscle relief.

5. Live chat widget

I can see that your website lacks a help widget and live chat feature to allow customers to contact you immediately. How about having a powerful live chat to assist potential customers instantly, addressing their questions or concerns in real time? This can help prevent abandonment and encourage purchases

I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a FREE Live Chat, WhatsApp & FAQ App. You can easily reach customer support via WhatsApp, ensuring immediate assistance for inquiries. Also, the widget provide multi self-Service options such as Order tracking, Translation and FAQ section empower customers to resolve common questions on their own, reducing the need for direct support.

As an expert/enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.

Hi @ActiPulse

I think your color choices are not great. That black background makes the white background on product images glow too much.

But here are other things that I think you could improve:

  • The product name is too big, and 4 rows are too much. Not sure if adding 30% off in the name is needed
  • then you have a price without the old, regular price. People like to see how much actually it was before the discount
  • Next, you focus on that bundle, like forcing customers to choose that. Note, in there select’dropdown is too narrow so text is cut off. Also that Add to cart changes in the middle. Not looking good. It should be a full button. But I would move that whole section after regular Add to cart and also would rename that button to Add bundle maybe.
  • This is more a theme issue, but " Add to Cart" should be the most noticeable element, needs to stick out, but outline button is not that. Customers would notice ShopPay first.
  • In the reassurance block, icons are barely visible
  • In the description you have several empty images there is just an image icon and “product review” text, which does not look professional
  • And that one review at the top that is visible is fine, though it is not connected to any app so it might look a fake
  • You could add a few more sections and some features that are on images move there, as more content/text would be good for SEO

And in general, for contact information, you at least have a phone, but an address and some business info would give more credibility. Also I suggest replacing a Gmail email with one from your domain.

Good luck and be patient and continue to work on the store.

Hi @ActiPulse ,

This is Kate from PageFly Landing Page Builder. I have taken a look at your store, it appears impressive and full of valuable information. I have a few suggestions to help enhance it further.

1. Enable option swatches for the product variant
Swatches provide a visual representation of the color, making it easier for your customers to understand the available options. They can quickly compare different colors by glancing at the swatches, reducing decision fatigue.

2. Add a favicon on your site

This icon will assist your visitors in locating your web page effortlessly and also contributes significantly to establishing trust in your brand.

3. Compact long information into bullet points

Bullet points break down large chunks of text into smaller, digestible pieces, making it easier for readers to scan and understand. Also, a clean and organized layout with bullet points is visually more attractive and less overwhelming than dense blocks of text.

4. Always include quick Add to cart buttons in product lists

It will save customers the trouble of having to click on a product in order to add it to their cart.

5. Always allow users to submit product reviews

Genuine reviews from real users help build trust with potential customers by providing authentic feedback about the product. Allowing reviews shows that you value customer opinions, fostering a sense of community and loyalty.

I hope my suggestions can help you improve your store. Thank you and wish you success!

Hi @ActiPulse

Your content could be more user-friendly with a few adjustments:

  1. Use a slider for product photos instead of listing them all.
  2. Simplify the text in the right column for easier reading.
  3. Replace the generic review with real ones, ideally with product photos. If you have reviews on platforms like Google or Trustpilot, embed them with links for easy verification. If you need assistance with this, let me know! I’ve developed a reviews importer app that can help.

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands to boost the conversion rate. I have viewed your site and hope our expertise can help you.

Firstly, you can consider enhancing the overall design of your product page to make it more visually appealing. It’s good that your website provides comprehensive product images, but the theme design and color are a little too simple. This can have a significant impact on customer engagement. Try to improve the word form designs and include more elements across the site for a better user experience. For example, you can check out our former collaboration with Logitech, and see how we upgrade the page by utilizing Pagefly.

Additionally, since you get views but struggling with conversion rate, implementing a retargeting strategy can effectively bring these potential customers who have shown interest in your products but did not complete their purchase back to your store. Our Ako Marketing app can help you launch targeted retargeting ads aimed at users by reminding them of the product they recently viewed and encouraging them to return and finalize their purchase. Utilizing this strategy will help you retarget based on customer behavior and ultimately increase your sales.

Best wishes! If you have any more questions or need a free professional consultation, feel free to let us know! Don’t forget to like and mark it as a solution if you find this helpful.

Hi @ActiPulse ! I’m Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.
It’s sad knowing that your ads is not performing as expected. I understand that converting leads into sales can be a real challenge, but there are always ways to work things out. I have spent some times visiting your online store, here are few things I want to suggest that you can take immediate actions to make the situation better:

1. Consider changing your theme color for the website

  • A study by Forbes showed that nearly 90% of consumers purchase based on colour. This means that if you’re not consciously using colours in your marketing strategy, you’re missing out on a major opportunity to connect with clients. Knowing how to use color to target the right customers can help you gain better conversion rate. Your current choice of color is not wrong, yet I don’t think it is the most attractive for a fitness gear store.
Understanding how color conveys feelings can help attract more customers and visitors to your store. Bright tones, like yellows and oranges, coordinate with optimism, friendliness and energy. Medium toned colors, such as reds and purples, relate to emotions like excitement and creativity. Colors like blue, green and other cool tones coordinate with dependability and peace. Finally, the pairing of white and black relate to balance, modernism and luxury.
Here is some example that you can have a look: https://www.uppper.co.uk/; https://bpisports.com/;https://www.nobullproject.com/.

2. Knowing what can increase your customer’s checkout speed
The answer is: Discounts! Create a sense of urgency by putting banner at check-out page or cart page to notify your customer what can they get if they purchase the product within a period of time. Or, if discount is not your option, consider giving them reward points in loyalty program.

3. Check the target audience for your ads
Are your targeting group too big? Or was it too general? In fact, some business owners want to promote their products to as many customers as possible, and they set the target for their ads to serve that intention. Many of them do get a lot of traffic, but it is hard to turn these traffic into revenue. I suggest you revise your target audience, try to identify the exact group that are interested in your products. The group can be niche, but they are potential buyers.

I hope these suggestions can help you improve your current situation! Good luck!

If you find these suggestions helpful for you, please let me know by giving BON Loyalty a ‘LIKE’ or marking it as a ‘SOLUTION’.

@ActiPulse I understand you’re looking to boost your conversion rate. Let me share some proven strategies.

  1. Store Design & UX
  • Keep your homepage clean and organized

  • Make sure product photos are high-quality and show items from multiple angles

  • Include clear calls to action and make your “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” buttons stand out

  • Optimize for mobile: over 70% of Shopify traffic comes from mobile devices

  1. Basic SEO Optimization to Get More Traffic:
  • Use SEO Ant to optimize your product titles, descriptions, and meta tags. Help improve your store’s visibility.

  • The recommended title format is “product name + brand + main features.” for example: don’t simply write “blue dress," but “Silk dress LV 2024 summer collection.”

  • Meta Description: Write the unique selling point and value proposition of the product, control within 150 words, for example, “Selected 100% Mulberry silk fabrics, elegant pleated design, highlighting the soft curves of women, providing S-XL multiple size options.”

  • Start a blog to target long-tail keywords and educate customers

  • Consider running Google Shopping campaigns

  1. Social Proofs:
  • Use a reviews app like Trustoo. Authentic, user-generated content (UGC) can influence purchasing decisions, help with SEO engines, and eventually drive hundreds of times ROI.

  • Regularly updated reviews are seen by Google as a sign that a website is active and trustworthy

  • Simply show star ratings for bad reviews. Show verified purchase badges; include customer photos, videos, and product details for good reviews.

  1. Customer Retention:
  • Choose a loyalty solution, like Loloyal, to keep customers loyal and increase repeat purchases.

  • Set up a points system: reward every purchase for 100 points ($5 value); product reviews with photos: 200 points; social media shares: 100 points; birthday bonus: 500 points; referrals: 500 points per successful.

This creates a cycle: satisfied customers leave reviews, which improves SEO and conversions, leading to more satisfied customers.

Hope it will help.

Hi @ActiPulse

Here’s what I think is happening and how you can improve things to start turning those TikTok sessions into actual sales. Based on the numbers you shared, the problem lies with the conversion funnel. Let’s break it down step by step:

1. Check Your Product Page

Your product page is the most important part of the journey. It’s where people decide whether to trust your store and spend their money. Here’s what to look for:

  • Product Images: Are your photos high-quality and professional? Show your product from different angles, in real use, and highlight key features. People want to imagine owning it.
  • Clear Description: The current description feels generic. Add specific benefits. For example, explain how the electric muscle gun helps users recover faster, reduces soreness in minutes, or works better than competitors.
  • Trust Factors: Build credibility. Include:
  • Customer reviews or testimonials (even if you gather a few manually).
  • Clear return/refund policy.
  • Trust badges like “Secure Checkout” or “Money-Back Guarantee.”

2. Price Perception

Is your pricing competitive and justified? If people feel the price doesn’t match the value, they won’t buy. To make it more enticing:

  • Highlight why your product is worth the price (e.g., durability, unique features).
  • Consider running a limited-time discount to create urgency, like “20% off today only!” (Make it believable and genuine).

3. Improve TikTok Ad Targeting

High sessions mean your ads are attracting attention, but they might not be pulling in the right audience. Reevaluate:

  • Audience Targeting: Are you targeting people who actually need or are actively searching for this type of product? TikTok’s algorithm often favors broad audiences unless you specify interests like “fitness recovery,” “sports gear,” or “massage therapy.”
  • Ad Creative: Does your ad clearly explain what the product is and how it solves a problem? Show it in action! TikTok users love quick, engaging videos that show results. Test variations like:
  • Before-and-after demos.
  • Quick testimonials.
  • Comparisons with similar products.

4. Optimize the Checkout Process

Even if someone adds your product to their cart, they can still drop off if the checkout process is clunky or confusing. Key fixes:

  • Simplify the steps to purchase.
  • Make sure you offer multiple payment options (credit cards, PayPal, etc.).
  • Add free shipping or clearly show shipping costs upfront.

5. Follow Up with Abandoned Carts

Capture those who showed interest but didn’t complete the purchase:

  • Use an abandoned cart email flow (Shopify makes this easy). Offer a small discount or incentive like “Complete your order in the next 24 hours for 10% off.”
  • Retarget on TikTok with ads for people who visited but didn’t buy.

6. Analyze Session Behavior

Dive into Shopify’s analytics or connect with tools like Hotjar to see why people aren’t converting. Key areas to study:

  • Where do people spend the most time on your site?
  • Do they leave after scrolling a bit? (It could mean the product isn’t convincing.)
  • Are there any technical issues on mobile (loading times, broken buttons, etc.)?

Here’s an example of a product page layout that works well for conversions:

Image Example

A visually appealing layout with:

  1. Large, clear product images.
  2. Easy-to-scan benefits (e.g., “Relieve soreness in 10 minutes”).
  3. Trust-building badges like “Free Shipping” or “Money-Back Guarantee.”

Final Thoughts

I understand how frustrating it feels to have no sales despite high traffic. But these issues are common for new stores, and with some tweaks, you can fix this! Focus on:

  1. Building trust and clarity on the product page.
  2. Refining your TikTok targeting and ad creatives.
  3. Making the purchase process seamless and following up with leads.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to help.
