21 day hold out on the payouts?

We started selling made-to-order items on Shopify this month and immediately hit a 21-day hold on my first payout. It seems to be a security policy for new stores.

I kind of understand the intent, but 21 days is a long time when you’re counting on that cash to fulfill the orders generating it. I’ve heard stories that people launched recently and ran into the same thing. It’s clearly standard, but it feels disproportionate for verified, in-progress orders. Any insights on why and how to speed through that process if it’s meant to be?

Hey Arcs,

We are constantly experimenting with ways to keep the Shopify Platform ecosystem safe and trusted. The 21 day experience you are referencing was one of those experiments.
