For reference, I sell higher ticket jewelry / watch products.
1. Highlighting Discounts Effectively
What are the most effective ways to display discount pricing on a Shopify product page to increase conversion? (e.g., strikethrough original price, $ saved, % saved, etc., color choices)?
Any styling techniques or apps you recommend for high-converting presentation?
2. “Buy It Now” vs “Add to Cart” Optimization
Are there any best practices around the visual hierarchy between “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” buttons? My default theme makes the Add to Cart very dull so it doesn’t compete with the Buy button.
3. Sticky Add to Cart – Scroll vs Action
Long product page due to reviews with images. Due to this I have added an “Add to Cart” button that is persistent on the page. I’m trying it out. Have you seen higher conversion from sticky “Add to Cart” bars that actually add the item to cart vs those that just scroll to the main button (this is how my theme is set up by default). Is it worth customizing this to take the action directly instead of just scrolling?
4. Font & Design Perception
Curious if font choices have a meaningful impact on conversion — have you seen certain font pairings or styles lead to better perceived value / trust on DTC sites? I had this recommendation from a friend to use a more “premium” or “luxurious” font.
What’s the best way to determine if a design or copy change is actually improving conversion?
5. Measuring CRO Impact
I’ve been making minor updates, but it’s tough to know what’s working without formal A/B testing. Any tools, tips, or simplified methods you recommend for someone early on in CRO testing? If I want to do A/B testing what are the best way(s) to do it?
Thank you so much for your time in doing this AMA with the Shopify community!
