Been getting a 5XX error as of recent from the shopify shop app api. I hadn’t made any changes and it started appearing. Contacted shopify, they did a refresh, said my account was set up properly, but still getting errors after starting a validation. tried click on the link to see the 5xx error and it just takes me to a blank page. Browser tab shows “log in with shop” alongside the Shop app logo as a favicon. Any idea on how to fix? Been trying to fix for 2 weeks now but not getting and expert advice. ive added a link with my domain name removed. i can share domain if that helps.

I’ve also been getting this in Google Search Console @BadBoyYYC . Were you able to find out any more information on this?

Nope. Shopify customer support was absolutely clueless as to what this was.
I mentioned it could be a bot creating these, they said it’s possible. I said well why isn’t my store protected using your services. They said in the next few months they will roll out bot protection for certain accounts. So no resolve. It obviously an error on the server side that should be an easy fix. It’s coming from the Shop app api.

Gotcha. Thanks for replying back to me! I guess we’ll both just have to wait until Shopify figures out how to fix it on their server.

I’ve tried some thing yesterday will be a few days before know if resolved, Customer support next next to useless but bought an app snd put Disallow in robots.txt as the robots.txt.liquid didn’t seem to update it. Will see if the $15 app is worth it.

Any results from this - getting over “435” affected pages for a site I manage myself.

Robots.txt didnt seem to fix it. what theme do you use wondering if its to do with that? as its not happening on our other website.

Same issues with me, started November 11th 2024. Dev’s blame google, google blames devs. They have no clue what’s going on. They said to do the updated robots.txt, (which is a band aid fix). That didnt work. they they said they’re turning into 301 redirects, which is false, because new 5xx errors keep populating.
