I trust that you are all in good health and enjoying your time. We’ve been encountering a recurrent problem concerning the Shopify storefront API that I felt necessary to bring to your attention. On multiple occasions, we’ve observed that a substantial proportion of our product catalog, approximately 80%, is not being displayed via the API.
In typical circumstances, this issue tends to resolve itself after a brief period, generally within an hour. However, our current predicament has persisted for a substantially longer duration - exceeding a full day - which has compelled us to reach out for support.
A particular instance illustrating this issue is our ‘Instant Noodles’ collection, which, despite consisting of 126 categories, only displays three through the API.
If there’s a chance that this problem is caused by any applications we have currently active, or possibly linked to our methods of product bulk uploads, we would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter. We’re treating this situation with a high degree of urgency and look forward to your prompt response.
Our webshop has been created with NextJS and mobile apps with Flutter, we have used GraphQL to query the data.
Thank you all in Advance
However it seems possible to query the products directly from their SKU.
We also try to use the hydrogen default template and we are experiencing the same issue, that led us to conclude that the error came from the API itself and not our code
We haven’t been able to identify if there is a pattern in products that are missing or not.
Products are back, we never changed anything, this is very unprofessional from shopify, they should ensure us that it wont happen again, we have lost so much business because of it, or at least they should tell us why it happens in the first place.
Shopify has told us that “I am very much happy to let you know that our developers were able to find that there’s a beta within the collection which causes the API to delay the call. They were able to fix this issue right away and I can see that the products are loading now as I have visited the instant noodles example that we have done.”

Seems like it’s all good now. Please let me know if this is also appearing on your end now. I really am happy for the progress that’s done today."
