A bracket has appeared above my announcement bar and I don't know how to remove it.

Hi

I have been creating my shop and changing a few things using code supplied by people here. However, I seem to have made an error and I don’t know how to fix it. A bracket has appeared above my announcement bar and I am unable to find the error. I have only made changes to some colours, centred and made text heavier.

If you can help or are willing to take a look please let me know what you need to access my site.

Thank you

Hi @DMalks

Thank you for the screenshot! I would be happy to see if I can help you isolate where this rogue bracket is coming from.

Can you please share the URL to your store and if you have a password page up, please change the password for the password page to a temporary one that you can share here as well.

Hi @DMalks

Thank you for the link and password. I took a look at the store and wasn’t able to replicate the bracket you are seeing. Were you able to resolve this issue on your end?

It looks like your original screenshot was taken from within the theme editor, are you seeing it in both the theme editor and the live set? Let me know.

Hi @Shay

Sadly no resolution yet and I can see it on both the theme editor and the live set. The image below is from the live.

Thank you for taking a look.

Regards

Thanks for the follow-up! I was able to finally replicate it, although for me it is showing below the footer. My coworker was able to replicate it happening above the header though.

While it’s being showcased a bit differently in both of our devices, what I can see is that it is a chunk of code floating most likely in the body section of theme.liquid for your store theme.

I’d take a look in your theme.liquid, inside the body section. Most likely near the top or bottom of the body section, but potentially inside any scripts or modifications you added.

On my end, when I see it below the footer I can see it wrapped in a

tag. You might be able to search for that in the theme code editor to find it.

Hi @Shay

Thank you so much for looking at this. I have done as you requested but I am still unable to find the error (driving me mad). I am at a loss to know where is error is. The Dawn theme is due for an update and it informs me that my code changes will not be included. I only made a couple of other simple changes so I am going to use this as a reset.

Thank you again for your help. I appreciate it.
