A Way to Block Shipping USPS to Australia

Hi All! As we know, shipping USPS to Australia from the US has not been possible since September 2021. Yet customers can still select USPS as their shipping carrier upon check out from my shopify store. Of course, I cannot actually print mailing labels or ship to Australia using USPS, so I am wondering if anyone has found a way to prevent customers from selecting USPS as their mail carrier to Australia? This would be incredibly helpful. Thank you in advance.

Hi @cathynicholsart ,

May I know how you have set up your shipping zone? Also, apart from USPS, which carrier do you to handle the shipping process?

One of the workaround for this issue is to create a separate shipping zone for Australia and not adding USPS shipping rates within this zone. You can enable any other shipping option (another carrier rates like UPS or flat rates). Now, if you are only using USPS, when you disable rates for Australia zone, a message will be displayed at checkout stating “We do not offer shipping to Australia”. I hope this will help you!

Hello,

You can prevent customers from selecting USPS shipping options for Australia using the ShipRight app. Here’s how:

  1. Open the app and click the “Add a new rule” button.
  2. Click “Add a new condition” and select “Shipping country”.
  3. Choose “Hide if found”, then select “Australia” in the “Shipping country” field.
  4. Enter all USPS shipping methods (e.g., “USPS Mail”) you want to hide in the “Additional shipping methods” field.
  5. Save the rule by clicking the “Save” button.

Now, customers from Australia won’t see USPS as a shipping option at checkout.
