I have enabled Shopify Payments for my site but have not yet completed the setup. I’m hoping to accept payments now and complete setup later. Is this possible? Right now I can’t see shopify payments/credit card at checkout. I only see paypal.
Could you share a link to your store with me here so I can confirm what you stated earlier about not being able to see a Shopify Payments option at checkout without having set it up fully first?
When I enable test mode, I can checkout with shopify payments with the the card number 4242424242424242 successfully. When I disable test mode, the option to enter a credit card at checkout is not there.
Thanks for that info and for that link to your store, I love it!
That would confirm that, apart from using test mode, you would have to add your bank account info to Shopify Payments before you’ll be able to process real money payments from your customers there.
Hello Don
Can I use my WiseBusinessAccount as a bank account with Shopify (insted of a physical bank account)? I mean Shopify using the Stripe payment gateway right? And I can link Stripe and Wise together. Is that work with Shopify or it’s a must to have a physical bank’s account? Best, Adam
Money-transferring services that mimic bank accounts aren’t supported by Shopify Payments.
Although virtual bank accounts are supported, you might experience more payout failures with these accounts so it is definitely advisable to use a physical bank account.
Take a look for the country your store is based in on the document shared above to learn more about the specific bank account requirements where you are.
The reason I don’t understand your answer is because Shopify Payments is based on the Stripe payment gateway. Right? So payments with Shopify goes directly to Stripe. And after the payment went to Stripe… if I link Stripe to Wise then no payment fails should happen. So I don’t understand what’s the problem with that? Since as I know Shopify Payments are based on Stripe.
