Access to CarrierService API in Developer Preview Store with New Checkout Extensions: Error 403

Hello!

We are currently developing an app for Shopify, and we’ve encountered an issue related to accessing the CarrierService API in a developer preview store where we are also working on implementing new checkout extensions. We have correctly configured the access scopes for our app, but we’re still facing difficulties.

Our previous app was declined by Shopify because it didn’t utilize the new checkout extensions, which is why we are now developing in a developer preview store. However, in this environment, we seem to lack access to the Carrier Service API, and we receive the error message: “403 - Action not permitted.”

Is there a way to have both access to the new checkout extensions and the CarrierService API within a developer preview store?

Thanks!

i usually just jump on the partner support chat thingy and ask them to enable it for me - havent done it for a while though…

Hi Joey,

You’ll need to contact partner support (via your partner dashboard) to see if this can be enabled.

Hey @FePixie thanks for the answer.

I have already reached out to Shopify’s partner support, but they were not able to enable it for me. They recommended me to post this issue on the community forum.

Hi Liam,

Thank you for your response. However, I’ve already contacted Shopify’s partner support, but they were unable to enable this feature for me. They recommended that I post this issue in the community forum.

they are being really annoying suggesting that anyone from the public can turn it on for you - because only they can do that - i’m having similar issues with support sending me back to public for something theres no possible way for the public to help with too

try again and ask them if it is already turned on or not first - if it is already turned on then have you checked the app permissions are correct? - if it’s not turned on then ask them to turn it on on your dev store. is it an app testing dev store that says it can’t be handed over to live? they should have no problems with that if it is…
