Active Navigation Link Color and box

I am trying to change the color of my active links within my navigation bar (not my my main header)

I cant figure out how to get it work. I want the the text link to stay a color when its active on the page and for it to have a color box background as well. Please help thank you. I want it to be like the example below when its on the collection page.
