Add a checkbox, when selected a message field is entered, any help?

Hi,

Hoping for some newbie advice

I sell greeting cards an Im looking to add a check box to all my products that gives the buyers a chance to write a message inside the card if they want, if they check the checkbox then a message field then appears for them to enter a message.

Anyone know the code for this as Im getting myself in a muddle!

Please Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit code → Sections → product-template.liquid and paste this code between {% form %} {% endform %}

I have added the code, is there a way to only have this message box appear if the checkbox above it is selected? (see listing below)

Hi,

Thanks for your message, I can create the checkbox no problem, what I cant do is when someone selects the checkbox then a message field appears under it

Perfect, thats what Im needing, added the HTML code no problem but the JS not been added right, would you know where I add this (im new to JS) Have i wrongly assumed this get added to

theme.liquid layout?
