Hi! What’s the code to add a clickable button on the header of our Shopify website? Here’s the website getpoplin.com Shopify theme used is Startup. Thank you and appreciate anyone’s help!
Hey there, @joanerosary . Thanks for jumping into the Shopify Community with your question. It’s nice to meet you!
I see that you’ve jumped into this thread here to ask for some additional support with this - which is great! I spent some time looking through that thread and see that KetanKumar is lending you a hand with things!
If you’re unable to get things working with the support you receive from that thread, or even this thread, consider checking out our Shopify Experts page! These are folks that make their living from helping folks with requests such as this. Though their help is often a service for you to pay for, many of these Experts also frequent these forums to lend a hand with requests such as this. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this resource.
Have you had the chance to check to see if there’s settings in your theme editor that may let you add a button? You’re using a third party theme (Startup) so I’m not too sure of the ins and outs of it’s settings, but some themes do include more in-depth customization features than others. It may be worthwhile to take some time to go to your theme editor and explore the settings there.
A tip that I usually provide folks that want to include a clickable link in their header is to make a new menu item in your navigation settings, and just link the desired page to that new menu item. This doesn’t create a button, but instead creates clickable text that you can use to direct customers to a specific spot in your store. It’s just like setting up a menu item for a collection, except you’re attaching a link, and not a collection, to the menu item. If you’re curious about this method, I’m happy to walk you through it as an alternative. Just let me know!
Do you mind if I ask why you’re looking to add such a button? Is it in relation to the ‘Baby Readiness Quiz’ you’re hosting? Your business is very niche by the way - very different from what I usually see here on the Forums! How long have you been operating? I’m super curious to learn more about what you do!
Hi! Thank you so much for these resources. 'Will definitely check on them also.

There’s no option to add another button within the theme editor

I already did add a new menu item in the navigation bar, this is actually the workaround I thought of since I’m still figuring out how to add a clickable button.
Super quick reply! Love that, @joanerosary !
It’s a good workaround, for sure. Definitely a hassle-free way of making something for your customers to engage with.
Biggest painpoint for me here is that you’re using a third party team, so supporting the theme customization directly is outside of our scope of support. Shopify Support employees (like myself) aren’t coding experts, so we’re unable to provide advise on the type of code to add to your store, nor are we able to add any coding directly.
With those expectations set, there is a chance that you may be able to reach out to our Live Team for some help with this request. With the theme being third party, I can’t promise that our team will be able to help with the request, but it doesn’t hurt to ask! You can use this link to send our Live Team an email and see if they’ll be able to lend a hand. Again, I do want to stress, it’s a third party theme and is typically outside of our scope of support, but I always like to encourage folks to try all resources available to them.
